code: SCREENCAPPED - a fake video game screenshot code (updated 7/20)

And you need all of these for your build? Even the Book of Erotic Fantasy? ...You know we're doing PBtA, right?
lmao hi I noticed a few FFXIV rpers have been using my codes -- love it. I wanted to throw together a quick goofy code that I guess you could use as like ... a thing for your contact page/dropbox or just whatever: a fake screenshot code. You supply the screenshot, and the code sets you up with a dialogue box. It comes in these styles:
You can find each code at the bottom of this post, beneath a live sample. Up next, how to use 'em!
HOW TO USE:
❣️ Mind those lj-raw tags!!
❣️ This code is (mostly) mobile compatible and insanejournal friendly! Please keep in mind that for optimal mobile compatibility, you'll want to keep the actual dialogue you enter relatively short.
❣️ Want to use this code as a splash page for your journal? Check out Manx's guide to making splash pages on Dreamwidth, or Tess's guide for insanejournal!
❣️ The Final Fantasy 14 codes use Myriad Pro, the closest thing to the proprietary Final Fantasy 14 font, and sans serif fonts otherwise. It's not a 1:1 match for in game. Relatedly, the black stroke effect does not look good on smaller fonts in CSS, so I had to forego that for the name header field unfortunately. :(
❣️ The Classical Final Fantasy code simply uses Verdana, a websafe font that is a pretty close match to the font used in the PC remaster (not remake) version of FF7.
❣️ For the Gensh-ish Impact code, I used this genshin font generator to mimic the font from the game.
❣️ Replace IMG_URL with the URL for the "screenshot" you want to use. This maximizes out PRETTY big so that there's adequate space for readable dialogue.
❣️ The Final Fantasy 14 dialogue boxes rely on dialogue boxes by Daniel/darthsuki on twitter that I have externally hosted to imgur. Feel free to continue to use those imgur links for those dialogue boxes.
❣️ Please note that each of the codes is specifically tweaked to accommodate that specific dialogue box, and you probably won't be able to successfully sub out one style of dialogue box for another. For example, if you wanted to use my code to make a Fire Emblem-style fake screenshot code, it'd take a lot of extra coding to get it to look right.
❣️ Watch for !!SPEAKER NAME!! and !!your text here!!. That's where you do your input.
❣️ This code contains a couple of credit links -- just one for me on the classic final fantasy code and one for both me and the text box maker on the ff14 codes. If you are using the FFXIV codes, please at least keep the credit to the original dialogue box maker in place!
- Final Fantasy XIV plain text, for normal dialogue.
- Final Fantasy XIV shouting, for when you realize who you were definitely divorced from in a past life.
- Classic Blue Final Fantasy message box, for when this guy are sick.
- Gensh-ish Impact, a Genshin Impact-inspired version, because it was easy and I'm wishing you good luck on nabbing your favorite 5 star (updated 7/20 to fix spacing)
- Final Fantasy Car Guys, inspired by FFXV and requested by
