code: CHECKERED CAST - a muse / cast list code
This is CHECKERED CAST, the first code from a new modular code set I'm working on, CHECKMATE. CHECKERED CAST is a simple directory/cast/muse list code set up in a flex grid. On the widest monitors, it will stack 3 across. On phone screens, it'll collapse to one character per row on DW and 2 characters per row on IJ, depending on the layout used.
CHECKMATE is a currently incomplete and unreleased fully modular code set that will allow you to shuffle together various squares and rectangles of content to create a variety of small codes like CR charts and permission lists. Right now, I plan on eventually releasing a navigation code and a thread topper/fake lj-cut code, minimum, as well as a general set hub where you can pick up pre-styled squares to use as you please. No anticipated release date for those yet with the holidays, though.
BUT, you're here for CHECKERED CAST, so let's get to it.
HERE IS THE BASE CODE:
HOW TO USE
❣️ Mind the lj-raw tags!!
❣️ This code is mobile friendly and insanejournal friendly!
❣️ For best results, paste into a new blank post behind an lj-cut.
❣️ Once the CHECKMATE set is released, I will update this post with instructions on how to implement the modular options.
❣️ Everything is clearly commented out. If you want to add more characters, copy and paste everything from CARD: NAME HERE to CARD: NAME HERE END.
❣️ Find IMG_URL in the code and change that to a still image or gif. This square is 125x125 px -- larger than your standard icon. So, you'll want to use a nicer quality image or gif, rather than an icon.
❣️ Find #URL_HERE in the code and change every instance of that to an appropriate URL. The base code has links for profile, tags, and game.
❣️ hex code #CA688E denotes the "primary" color, which is used as the "CHARACTER NAME" header.
❣️ hex code #BD4271 denotes the "secondary" color, which serves as the background for the pb name line.
❣️ This code works well with complimentary colors or monochromatic colors, but you can and should get creative. IF IT FEELS GOOD, DO IT, BAYBEE. But, anyway, Canva has a color wheel that lets you automatically pick complimentary colors and monochromatically similar colors from your primary color. By default, the code is very pink.
❣️ This code does have a credit at the very bottom. I'd love if you kept it in there, but you can delete it if you want. NBD.
❣️ FOR IJ USERS ONLY: Want to stack more of each card horizontally? At the very top of the code, you'll find max-width:850px; -- just increase that number my increments of 300 and it'll stack up to 5 across, max.
