code: LEF - a simple splash code
Merry Draftsmas! Trying to scoot code eleven in here before I ?maybe? disappear for a few days???? We are getting Schrödinger's Catted on this winter storm here I s2g, so who knows.
REGARDLESS stay safe and stay warm this week. Happy Holidays if you celebrate, and look forward to gaining a minute more sunlight on the 25th if you don't.
LEF started out as LEAF -- I was trying to make a design that looked like leaves -- but I keep typoing the word LEAF while I was making this code because I really need to clean out my mechanical keyboard, and also it looked less and less like a leaf each time I tweaked it. It is a very straightforward splash code with a few links and a basic header. You could use it for a post topper or as a splash page on a journal, given the right splash coding. It's ENCIRCLE's less refined little sister, and may have sat in the drafts forever except I am too fond of it to leave it sit unreleased.
UPDATE 12/31/22: fixed a typo that caused image scaling issues TY
baisemain for catching that 😭
CODE HERE:
HOW TO USE:
❣️ Mind those lj-raw tags!!
❣️ This code is mobile compatible and insanejournal friendly!
❣️ Want to use this code as a splash page? Check out Manx's guide to making splash pages on Dreamwidth, or Tess's guide for insanejournal!
❣️ Comes with four links by default, but I'm pretty sure you can add as many links as you'd like under the TEXT subsection where indicated!
❣️ DON'T FORGET TO #URL_HERE!!!
❣️ This code has one instance of IMG_URL you'll need to replace, and it's designed for a goodly-sized portrait of your character. Preferably at least a 500x500 picture, but anything you stick in there will auto-scale.
❣️ hex code #f4adac is a light salmon pink used as the background oval on the design. You'll find it under the BACKGROUND OVAL subsection in the code.
❣️ rgba(255, 129, 128,.75) are the same color, a salmon-y pink used MAINLY for the stroke effect around the header text. This color is declared twice in the code -- once at the top, as JUST an RGB value, and once under the TEXT subsection, with the added .75 opacity. Be sure to change both and replace them with the same color.
❣️ hex code #d96564 is the color assigned to each link under the TEXT subheader. Find-replace this color to change it.
❣️ If you are having clipping issues with the background oval disappearing on your journal, change that margin:0 auto; at the top to margin:50px auto 0; That should fix it.
❣️ This code comes with a credit by default. Appreciate it if you leave it in, but you can delete if you want! :)
❣️ I love peeking at what people do with my codes, so feel free to comment if you use! If you're feeling generous, you can also donate to one of the charities listed on the main draftmas hub post.
